So we have spent a bit of time over the last few weeks with wood and glue... now it is time to develop some skills using a hammer and nails!
It is tricky stuff coordinating it all but if we practice we will get there!
Practice, and a lot of focus and concentration.
Now that we have mastered the skills involved, let's make a 'lagerphone'' (an idea suggested and resourced by Kay... a wonderful student teacher working with us at the moment).
And then, it is time to get down and boogie!
A challenging and very rewarding experience!
Nice. I do something like this w my early childhood students. They use hammers and cordless screwdrivers. They love it, esp the noise of the screwdrivers.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of fun and "real" work! Have you tried using a clothespin to hold the nails? A tip I learned recently from a friend and helps save some fingers until they improve their aim!
ReplyDeleteClothes pegs! 'Kerching'!! See that is what I love about blogging... the feedback and ideas can be so helpful! Cheers Amy!
ReplyDeleteOooo cordless screwdrivers, that would be awesome Brenna! :)
great post!
ReplyDeleteMarcia :)
Thanks Marcia... I hope it was useful in some way! :)
ReplyDeleteMy girls would love to make musical instruments like that. Might have to give it a go this school holidays.
ReplyDeleteWas really easy Marita for the children to manage (We did pre-drill the holes in the bottle tops). The children loved them! Good luck with it! :)
ReplyDeleteHammer and nails are like the most fun ever! I love those lager phones. What a cool idea!
