INSPIRED BY TEACHER TOM

One of my favorite blog sites is http://www.teachertomsblog.blogspot.com/
Not only for his creative ideas but also for his ability to articulate much of what is really important in the life of children.
Now I have to own up to stealing this idea straight off his blog site!  Again I engaged our grandfather Brian, to have a go at making Tom's wooden construction set.

And of course, the children thought it was brilliant!

And all made from recycled materials.

Now I just need to find some lovely wicker baskets for storage.
Thanks Tom... and I have my eye on your 'Cookie Tree' for next year!
I still find it amazing to think that a teacher living and working in Seattle, whom I have never met before, can have such a great influence on what happens in a preschool in Melbourne Australia!

  1. Thanks Jenny. But of course I cannot take any credit for the set. Inspired by Teacher Tom and created by Brian! Thank you so much for dropping by and offering your support! :):)

  3. Thank you Tom... as I said, your site is so inspiring and I just had to steal this idea! We are so fortunate to have Brian on board our team. We have adopted him as an honorary staff member. He does so much for us. If anything is broken at preschool, the kids just say,"Brian will fix it!" Sometimes he is able to bring his tools in and fix things on site, allowing the children to help out and learn from his expertise. They just love it! I must say I am fast becoming addicted to this blogging medium... so much we can learn from one another, with huge benefits to us and the children within our care. :)
